Economic Reform

As we know our economy is in really bad shape. The prices are sky rocketing as the inflation of the country moves up in double digits. This is a worrying situation that is affecting most of the middle class and the gap between those who have not are widening. The plight and the hardship facing many of the people in these income brackets are the hardest hit.

Everyday they worry about the staple food that they have to keep them fed in this time of Ramazan. The price of the fish to the watermelon has sky rocketed over the weeks and months. This situation needs to be changed by bringing meaningful economic reform to the nation.

The economic reform is as vital to the nation as we have embarked on the political reform. The incumbent finance minister knows the importance of economic reform as he was talking about it while he was the governor of the central bank, Maldives Monetary Authority (MMA).

So, I stand for the economic reform that is so necessary for a decent living for the families of Maldives.
